Updates on Coronavirus Pandemic in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is one of the comparably less-affected countries by the Covid-19 Pandemic. After a strict lockdown in 2020, most measures to prevent the spread have been dropped. People are still encouraged to practice social distancing and to wear mouth and nose protection indoors.

There are in total 831,599 confirmed cases, with 10,260 recorded deaths within the country, while 821,221 patients have recovered. A total of 138 people are placed under quarantine in Azerbaijan. Travel and safety advice
Entry
At present, entry into the country is only possible by plane. To enter, foreign citizens need to present a valid certificate of vaccination or recovery. Foreign vaccination certificates, such as the EU Digital Covid Pass, are accepted. Exceptions from this requirement apply to close relatives of citizens of Azerbaijan, minors (under 18) and persons approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Presenting a PCR test on national and international flights is no longer required. Please consider possible additional requirements by Your airline or transit countries.

Transit and onward travel
Transit and onward travel is currently only possible via Heydar Aliyev Airport in Baku. For departure, the entry documents of the destination country must be presented.
Travel connections
The international train, bus, and ferry services remain suspended. To Germany, there are flight connections to Frankfurt (Lufthansa) and Berlin (Azal). Furthermore, there are direct flights to transit hubs such as London, Istanbul and Warsaw. The respective entry requirements must be followed.
Restrictions in the country
Corona restrictions have been largely lifted. Public facilities are mostly open. However, restrictions on the use of public services remain in place for the unvaccinated. Foreign certificates are accepted as proof of full vaccination or recovery.
Those having coronavirus symptoms are strongly recommended to stay at home and call the 103, 113 or 814 health hotlines!
